Bendy logic

How about a bus that carries as many (or nearly as many) people as a bendy bus, occupies half the road area, and provides quick and easy entry and exit? The name "Route Master" has a ring. I know it sounds daft, but it could work. A bit of imagination, will-power and some of the TLC dished out by VW to the old Beetle, or BMW to the old Mini, and we'd be there.
